Module cloning, repair & recovery · BMW / MINI / Rolls-Royce

Your module, cloned and back on the road.

BAV-LAB clones, repairs and recovers control modules for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce, and repairs ICOM interfaces, in support of professional repair shops. Tell us what you have and what it is doing, and we will take it from there.

What we do

The short list is below. If you have a specific request that is not on it, send it anyway and we will confirm price and time frame.

DME cloning

The data from your original DME moved to a replacement unit, so the replacement carries the identity of the one that came out.

ECM cloning

We specialize in BMW, but we can clone many other manufacturers’ engine control modules too.

EGS / TCM cloning

Transmission control modules cloned to a replacement when the original has failed.

CAS cloning and recovery

CAS modules cloned to a replacement, or recovered when the original data can still be saved.

ISM / shifter modules

Cloning and virginization of ISM and shifter modules so a replacement can be fitted.

ICOM repair

Diagnosis and repair of ICOM interfaces that no longer power up, connect or communicate.

Instrument cluster repair

Clusters taken apart, repaired at board level and reassembled, then confirmed working.

Not on the list?

Send the request anyway and describe the unit. We will tell you whether we can help.

Checked before it ships. Any time we clone an ECM, DME or EGS module, we confirm the data on the bench with a scan tool wherever that is possible, before the unit goes back to you.

Send a request

Fill out the repair form with the module details and the fault.

We reply

We confirm whether we can do the work and tell you how to ship.

Lab work

Your module or interface is cloned or repaired, then checked on the bench.

Return

The finished unit is shipped back to you.

About us

BAV-LAB is a specialist electronics lab for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce control modules, set up to assist professional repair shops. When an engine control unit or another module fails, a replacement will not simply plug in and work, because the original holds data that is specific to your vehicle. Cloning moves that data across, so the replacement behaves like the one that came out.

We also repair ICOM diagnostic interfaces, the tools that workshops and enthusiasts rely on to talk to the vehicle in the first place. When an interface stops working, repairing it is often the better option than replacing it.

Every job starts with a conversation about what you have and what went wrong. That is what the repair form is for.
